Executive function support for kids 10–15 [CONFIRM AGE RANGE]

Smart kid. Lost assignments. It's not effort — it's executive function.

homeworkIQ hears what teachers assign, checks your child's own planner against it, and coaches the follow-through — remembering, planning, starting, finishing, turning it in. No nagging from you. No red marks from us.

Sound familiar?

The work wasn't too hard. It got lost somewhere between the classroom and the kitchen table.

Executive function is the brain's management system — the skill behind every assignment. When it's still developing, homework breaks down at the same four points. homeworkIQ is built around each one.

01

Hearing it

"Don't forget, practice sheet's due Friday" — said in the last ten seconds of class, on the way out the door.

Q catches it, even in the hallway.

02

Writing it down

The planner says "math." Which pages? Due when? A project set Monday vanishes by Tuesday.

Their planner, checked against what was actually said.

03

Starting it

A big project with no first step is a project that waits until Thursday night.

Q breaks it into a plan with steps and days.

04

Turning it in

Finished, then left on the desk. Or done, in the bag, and never handed over.

"What goes in the bag" — every evening.

How it works

Your child does the remembering. Q makes sure nothing slips.

1. The school day is heard

A small class recorder your child wears syncs to their phone automatically. Q turns each class into an answer key: what was assigned, what it involves, and when it's due.

2. They write their own planner

Your child snaps a photo of their planner. Q checks it against what was really said — so the habit gets built, not outsourced. Missed something? Q points to it, without giving the answer away.

3. Q coaches the follow-through

Gentle nudges, project plans, a running "still to turn in" list, and a nightly bag check. Work is submitted by photo and marked — first try counts, and fixing it visibly pays off.

Built for kids who've heard "try harder" enough

Support that builds the skill — and their confidence.

Kids who struggle with executive function are usually drowning in reminders and red ink. homeworkIQ is designed the other way around.

Nothing is punitive

No alarm red, no countdowns, no X's. "Not yet" and "worth another look" — a miss is information, not a verdict.

Effort visibly pays

Their record shows what first tries average — and what they average after going back and fixing them.

They can push back

"That's not right" is one tap. Q re-reads it, you see everything, you decide. Fairness keeps kids trying.

They do the noticing

"Remind me Friday about the cello." Kids set their own reminders — that's the habit, not a workaround for it.

Rewards you trade together

Q Stars for work done right, first time, on time. Your child sees every one; you two decide what they're worth.

Coaching, not answers

Q holds back what it knows until your child has done their own work. Only in practice drills does it teach with the answer.

For parents

Stop being the homework police. Get one honest answer each evening.

Your dashboard answers the question you actually have: did they do their part today — and is anything waiting on me?

Insights that become a plan

Strengths and gaps with the evidence beside each — "9 for 9, three different days" — next to upcoming tests. "Test Friday on the thing they keep missing" comes with a ready-made study plan.

Routines with a clear "done"

Set up chores with a photo of what finished looks like — the clean room, the packed bag — and time windows like weekdays 7:00–7:30. Q compares against your photo, not a guess.

Practice, built for them

Q builds quick drills on weak spots, and times practice for instruments and reading. Minutes count even when Q can't hear a cello.

Game-day clearance, automatic

Before each game, teachers get a text asking about missing work, and the coach hears whether your child plays. No one has to remember on the day.

Schedule in, in minutes

Snap the class timetable or type it as a simple grid. Import your calendar so practices and appointments sit alongside the work.

Both parents, one picture

Invite a co-parent so everyone sees the same day. You create your child's login — they can't make a second, cleaner account.

For teachers, tutors & learning specialists

What you say in class arrives at home intact.

You already know which students have the ability but lose the thread between your room and their desk. homeworkIQ carries your instructions home — with no new platform for you to learn.

Share homeworkIQ with a family
  • No logins, no extra data entry.

Teach the way you already do. Q works from what's said in class.

  • Your exact words, as the record.

When an assignment comes up at home, families see what you actually said — not a half-remembered version.

  • Planner skills, practiced daily.

Students still write their own planner every day — homeworkIQ checks it, which reinforces the executive function goals you and the family are working on. [CONFIRM IEP/504 LANGUAGE]

  • One text on game days — that's it.

If the family uses sports clearance, you'll get a quick text asking whether any work is missing. Reply and you're done.

Questions parents ask

Does Q do the homework for them?

No. Q holds back what it knows until your child has produced their own work, then gives feedback. Practice drills are the one exception — there, Q coaches with the right answer and the method, because that's how drills work.

Who can see the class recordings?

Transcripts are parent-only — your child never sees them, because they're the answer key their planner is checked against. [ADD PRIVACY / DATA RETENTION DETAILS] Please check your school's policy on recording devices before you start.

What if Q gets something wrong?

Your child taps "That's not right" and writes a short note. Q re-reads it, you see the whole thing, and you make the call. Open challenges sit at the top of your dashboard so they never wait unseen.

What if the recorder is left at home or runs flat?

That's reported to you separately and never counted against your child. A day with no recording is our hardware's gap, not missing homework. You can also type in an assignment yourself.

Does my child need a diagnosis like ADHD?

No. homeworkIQ helps any child who's still building planning, memory and follow-through skills — with or without a diagnosis, IEP or 504 plan.

What devices does it work on?

iPhone for parent and student [CONFIRM ANDROID], plus a supported wearable class recorder [LIST SUPPORTED DEVICES].

Fewer "I forgot." More "I've got it."

Give your child a coach that's on their side — and give yourself your evenings back.
